The New Year is vastly approaching: What to expect in 2023:

With the new year right around the corner the State of Connecticut has implemented a Highway Use Tax for any motor vehicle that is larger in weight. The carriers will now be required to have a Highway Use Tax Permit coming January 1st 2023 to operate on Connecticut highways. This permit is due to be had on or before February 28th. As we move into January we expect this to fluctuate some lanes hauling through the state if Connecticut due to the new tax that many will encounter.


Will there be a hefty fee if commercial vehicles do not follow this new Highway Use Tax? The answer is; yes! If you are knowing divert in occupying the permit, you will be fined $1000. Currently the exception is a vehicle carrying farm milk or dairy product from a farm that has the proper license.
