US Supply Chain crisis, ports jammed and shelves empty:

Updated: Sep 15, 2022

Lasting effects from our global pandemic has increased the backlog of containers arriving and leaving the ports. This has made the system overwhelmed from all the products coming in. Boats filled with containers stuck waiting in the water outside of ports until a space opens to unload. Once containers get unloaded at the port, they are stacked on top of others, congesting the ports even more while they’re waiting for truckers to pick up but with the supply issue of truckers, this delays the process of picking up these containers, resulting in more storage and port fees. Importing and Exporting is a national infrastructure for our world, yet it is only slowing us down. Due to mass congestion, lack of truckers and inflation not only have supply and demand rises, but so have product costs.
